Campus Access
Campus Access
Spanaway Middle School students are allowed in the building at 6:45 a.m. Classes begin for all students at 7:15 a.m. and conclude at 1:45 p.m.
Spanaway Middle School is a closed campus: students may not leave during the day without permission. If a student leaves campus for any reason without checking out, they will be considered truant and face disciplinary action.
All students who are not involved in a supervised after-school activity must be out of the building no later than 1:50 p.m. Once students leave the building for the day, they are not allowed to return to the campus.
Bicycles
If a student lives within a one-mile radius of Spanaway Middle School, they may walk or ride a bike to school. However, students must secure their bike with their own lock on a daily basis in the bicycle port. The district assumes no liability for loss or damage which may occur to a bicycle that is brought to campus.
Skateboards and Roller Blades
Skateboards and roller blades are allowed on campus property but may not be used on campus property.
Parking Lots and Driveways
Although the district provides bicycle racks, driveways, and parking lots for the use of students, employees, and the public, the district assumes no liability for loss or damage occurring in connection with their use. All persons who use such facilities do so at their own risk.
Volunteers and Visitors
Spanaway Middle School encourages parent involvement. Please contact the office if you would like to volunteer. Prospective volunteers must submit a volunteer application with the district. You can access the application here. Volunteers and visitors must sign in and wear identification when in the building.
