Student-athletes at Spanaway Middle School are expected to maintain high academic and behavioral standards, as well as demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Students will not be allowed to participate in competitions if they have two or more F's on their most recent report card. Students may continue to practice, but must bring up failing grades before being allowed to compete.
Teachers and coaches work with student-athletes on an individual basis to set and maintain goals that will benefit the student, team, and school.
6th graders are permitted to participate in every sport except football, per WIAA policies. Non-cut sports for all grades include track and field, wrestling, and cross-country. Additionally, opportunities for athletics also exist with Bethel Recreation and other outlets.
