ASB

The Associated Student Body (ASB) of Spanaway Middle School represents the student body and plans school events.

ASB cards are $40 for middle school students.

Students who purchase an ASB Card receive the following benefits:

  • Discounts on dances and yearbooks.                           
  • Reduced prices on Bethel School District athletic and cultural events.
  • It is required in order to participate in clubs, music programs, and athletics.
  • Your card helps support all athletics and extra-curricular activities at SMS.

ASB Hours

  • Monday - Friday: 10:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Monday - Friday: 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • School  Activities and Clubs: Spanaway Middle School offers a variety of school activities, dances, clubs, and athletic programs designed to help students stay engaged, build friendships, and explore their interests.

School dances and activities are planned by the ASB Student Council and are held throughout the school year. Attendance at school events is a privilege and may be denied if a student has outstanding fines or fees or if their behavior does not meet school expectations. A variety of after-school clubs and activities are offered throughout the year, with opportunities changing based on student interest and staff availability. Most clubs and activities meet from 1:50–3:30 p.m. Students are responsible for arranging transportation home with their families.

Athletic practices are typically held from 2:00–4:15 p.m. An activity bus is available Monday through Thursday, departing from the school at 4:45 p.m. for eligible students participating in after-school activities or sports.
